Martin Straadhof is Executive Director of the Ontario Farmland Trust, a charitable organization with a mission to protect our food producing landscapes. With a loss of 320 acres per day, it is critical that we protect farming for future generations.’
John Thompson is a celebrated farmer – recently inducted into the Quinte Regional Agricultural Hall of Fame and President of PEC’s Federation of Agriculture. John is a strong supporter of Canada’s supply management system and protecting farming as a viable way of life.
Jane Thompson, a Toronto girl, is also an inductee into the Agricultural Hall of Fame for her work in educating non-farmers about the life and business of farming – in classroom programs, as agricultural contributor for 99.3 FM, and as a 4-H community leader for over 35 years.

And what does the future hold? As the climate crisis accelerates, land is paved over, and agriculture is financialized, what is the future for farming and young farmers?
